What is SEPA Direct Debit?

The European Direct Debit system (SEPA Direct Debit) is one of the 3 products (together with the European transfer and card payment) that have been developed in the context of the implementation of the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area).

What is a SEPA Direct Debit mandate?

By digitally approving the SEPA Direct Debit mandate, you grant Glase permission to debit your bank account for the amounts of your payments with the Glase app. Click here in order to read the mandate.

How do I add a SEPA Direct Debit Account?

Adding a SEPA Direct Debit Account is easy!

  1. Simply go to 'Accounts' in the menu and press 'Add SEPA Direct Debit'
  2. Enter all the information needed (Name, birthdate, adress and IBAN)
  3. Press 'Next' and then 'Approve'

If you already verified your identity in the app your account will be activated within a few minutes!

How do I know that my SEPA Direct Debit account has been activated?

When you download the Glase app, you can easily register a payment account. Your registration is completed when your spending limit is raised from €0 to €75 within the timespan of a few minutes. If this limit remains at €0, then we were not able to verify your identity during the registration process. In order to correct this, you need to scan your ID once again. In doing so, make sure that the picture is in focus and clearly legible.

You can easily complete this process by following the steps below:

  1. Open the Glase app and go to 'Profile' in the menu
  2. Click on 'Verify identity'
  3. Choose which type of document you would like to use for the verification
  4. Verify your identity by taking a photo of both the front and back of the document

You will receive a message when the verification is completed!

Can I change my bank account number in the app?

When you’d like to change your bank account, you need to contact customer service. Customer service will then delete your bank account from the system. In order to use Glase with your bank account again, you’ll need to register your new bank account in the app.

Can I link my credit card to Glase?

No, at the moment it is not possible to link your credit card to the Glase app, but you can use a credit or debit card to top up your Glase account.

Can I use the same IBAN number on different smartphones?

You can use a joint IBAN number on no more than two smartphones. Please note: these smartphones must be registered using different forms of ID, telephone number and email address that concur with the data of the person using the smartphone.

Can I use multiple IBAN on one smartphone?

No, you can only use one IBAN on one active smartphone.

Where can I find my IBAN?

You can find your IBAN on your credit or debit card.

How much money can I send using my SEPA Direct Debit account?

You'll have a monthly limit of approximately 100€ (depending on your currency).
