What does my phone need to support Glase?

In order to be able to use Glase, your smartphone needs to have the following features:

  • Camera with autofocus
  • Touchscreen
  • Internet connection, through Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G
  • Android or iOS operating system


How can I install Glase on my smartphone?

First, download Glase for free in the App Store or Google Play. Then follow the registration process on your smartphone:

  1. Select your country and accept the General Terms of Service
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Select your Glase PIN. This is a personal code for confirming both your registration and your payments
  4. Confirm your chosen Glase PIN
  5. Enter your mobile phone number
  6. Enter your activation code. You will automatically receive this code in an SMS to the phone number that you have entered

Registration Glase

You are now registered for Glase and you can receive money from other users. To be able to pay with Glase, you will need to add a payment account or top up your Glase account with your credit or debit card. Find out how to do top up your Glase Account here and how to add a payment account here!


What PIN should I enter?

During the registration you will be asked to enter a Glase PIN. This Glase PIN is a secret code that you choose yourself and will also be asked to enter for each Scan & Pay transaction.


What format should I use for entering my date of birth in the Glase app?

The correct format for entering your date of birth is yyyy-mm-dd. It is also important to place the hyphens correctly.


Who can use Glase?

Everyone over the age of 18 can use Glase!


Is Glase free of charge?

Yes! Glase can be downloaded for free in the App Store and Google Play Store. Making payments with Glase is also free of charge for all users.


I cannot find the Glase app in the store?

Check whether your smartphone has been set to the correct country (e.g United Kingdom). For instance, if you have set ‘Australia’ as your region, you will not be able to find the Glase app in any of the stores as it is not currently available there.


Do I need to transfer money in advance to be able to pay with Glase?

This depends on the account you would like to use.

If you’re using your Glase Account, this is a pre-paid account meaning you'll need to top up your account before you’ll be able to use it. Want to find out how to do this? Take a look here.

If you would like to connect your bank account account to make payments, there's no need to top up! Once you have added your banking information you will automatically be granted a spending limit. This will not be taken from your current account, but indicates the maximum amount that you can spend with Glase. Each payment you make with Glase will then be debited from your bank account shortly afterwards. For more information on this, have a look here.


Are you able to change your email address?

Select 'Profile' from the menu and edit your email address in the relevant field. You'll then receive an email to verify this new email address.
